Banff, Canada

Lake Louise, Banff National Park

My first time in Canada and I am SO happy it was Banff that I got to visit! I went for a wedding and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see them get married AND in one of the most beautiful places I have ever laid eyes on. I am so excited to go back and explore more. I stayed at Banff Park Lodge and had about 3 full days here which, a lot of my time was filled up with wedding activities, HOWEVER; there were some moments I was able to break away and be a tourist so here is a short and simple guide of Banff in my eyes.

Things to do:

  • Banff National Park - I got to visit Lake Louise and wow. It did not disappoint. As you can tell from the photos below, it was absolutely breathtaking. I took the bus 8x from Banff to Lake Louise and it was about an hour one way. The views to the lake are gorgeous though and you see all the Rocky Mountains surrounding you. I highly suggest going for an entire day so you can have time to do all the hikes and see the other lakes. I only got to go for half the day so had to do what I could with the time I was given. I hiked to the Fairview Lookout point and it was incredible. Not a hard hike. I would say it was 40 min round trip.

  • After we visited the lake and took a million photos, we had afternoon tea at Fairmont Château Lake Louise. We got to sit right outside and had a perfect view of the lake in front us. If you’re looking to relax and unwind, this is the place to do so.

  • Banff Hot Springs- I spent about 18 dollars for the day pass and it was a cool experience. Its all man made, keep in mind. Not your typical in the ground natural ones but still a nice relaxing thing to do especially when it’s cold outside.

  • Fairmont Banff Springs- This gorgeous hotel is the perfect place to go if you want to have tea, drinks or lunch outside while overlooking all the mountains and rivers beneath. Incredible space.

  • Get coffee at Wild Flour. I really enjoyed this coffee shop. They made great iced lattes and had good juices as well.
