Lagos, Portugal

There is something magical about this place. Seriously, it's so beautiful. The little time I had here was well explored, but I'm very excited to go back and spend a good week there. To start off, the beaches are incredible. There are so many caves you can swim in and out of. The water was a little on the colder side, but nothing too crazy. I fell in love with the nude beaches and how free women could be without the stereotypical judgments from others. After I spent a good few hours at the beach, I went and had some delicious dinner at this cute little restaurant. I indulged in Esparguete com Verdura e Camarão, Tarte de amêndoa c/ gelado & Tarte de pastel de nata. The pastries are so good! I also suggest packing light because there are a lot of hills, and it can be difficult carrying your luggage up all of them. (I only spent one night here, so I don't have too much to elaborate on, but I made the most out of my 36 hours here... LOL)

How to get there:

I took a train from Faro which was really quick. Total of 90 minutes. You can book your train tickets here.

My favorite:

  • Ponta da Piedade. One of the best beaches I have ever seen/been to. There are cliffs that overlook the bottom where everyone is laying out. I loved how free everyone was and the vibe was so relaxing. It’s definitely a nice break from the busy city of Lisbon.

  • Praia do Camilo. This public beach is a must. You walk down stairs to get there and you can enter different parts of the beach through caves. So cool. I really loved it. We laid out for a few hours during our last morning before we caught the train. I definitely recommend taking a visit here.
