Antelope Canyon, Arizona

I really loved this experience. It was the perfect way to end a road trip. The canyon has a wave like structure that sets it apart from other canyons nearby. The walls rise about 120 ft high. The canyon was created by water that rushed over its walls a very long time ago. The canyon is located in the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation, near Page, Arizona.

Before you arrive:

  • Wear comfortable clothes/shoes.

  • You will need a guide in order to access this area.

  • You cannot drive to it. Once you purchase a permit, you are taken on a cart to the location with a group of people. (They may do private tours if interested but I did a public one) Here you can book a tour.

  • Try to go earlier in the day when the light is out. Since you are literally in a closed canyon with very little light, going towards the end of the day won’t be great for photo’s and what not.

  • Bring water and a snack. Especially if going in middle of day when the sun is out.
