Horseshoe Bend, Arizona

I drove to Horseshoe Bend on a road trip with my 2 friends and it’s definitely worth the visit! We traveled from Los Angeles by car. It took around 10 hours so if you can leave at night and take turns driving throughout, that is your best bet. Otherwise the nearest airport is Page Municipal Airport. I stayed for about 1 hour there to just walk around and take it all in. It was breath taking and want to know the best part? Parking was EASY! There’s a parking lot right outside of the entrance which makes it super convenient. Watch for the lot on the west side of the road at mile marker 544, just before entering the town of Page. If the lot is full, staff will ask you to return later. You are not allowed to park on the side of the road or drop anyone off.

Some quick tips:

  • You really only need 30-60 mins there in my opinion.

  • Will cost $10 per vehicle to park.

  • Bring water and snacks. There is no where nearby to buy some.

  • Drones are not allowed.

  • Try to go sunrise or sunset. Less crowded and a gorgeous sight to see! Avoid the crowds by going at sunrise or on weekdays.

  • Depending on the year you’re going, make sure to dress accordingly. It can either be really hot or really cold.

  • Wear comfortable shoes with grips on the bottom. This isn’t a place you want to accidentally slip.
